Weekend #1 Of FUN - Three Island Crossings

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday.

My busy month is in full swing with a few more Elks officer commitments penciled in.  More fun on the weekend!

Last weekend we spent time in the RV at Three Island Crossings at the Elks District Glampout.

We had Elks members come from the Weiser Lodge to the Snake River (Jerome) Lodge.  We had a great time and wished it was longer.

There were three scheduled events on Saturday, wine tasting, golfing, and a catered dinner.  I attended wine tasking where we tasted the full assortment of wines, which was delicious.

The catered dinner was amazing.  We had tri-tip, pork loin, scalloped potatoes (so good), green beans, salad, and dessert.   I think Nampa was the biggest representation with 35 members and it was wonderful to see so many friendly and familiar faces along with meeting so many new friends.  I want wait for the next district get together and I heard rumors of a 2027 Alaska cruise.

I don’t have much to report on the WW front.  I’m stuck at this crossroad between I’m just not feeling it and I’m feeling allllll of it.

Weekly WI: Monthly (And Yearly) Progress Tanked

I’m a bit late checking in this week.  It has been busy with a full week back to work.  September is going to be busy so I’m trying to mentally prepare myself.  It is also full of weekend social FUN all month long.  I’ve already had my first pumpkin spice and I’m ready for cooler temps.  Sadly, our temps will continue to reach the 90s.

My Weekly WI was not pretty.  I felt successful for how my return-from-vacation week went and was surprised by such a large gain.  The large gain not only tanked my progress over the last month, but it also pretty much set me back to the start of the year.

sigh

I decided not to let it tank my mental state this week as I am hopeful it was a temporary hormonal spike.  My focus this week has been to reconnect with the Activity pilar.

·       Wednesday: indoor treadmill walk – 1.02 miles

·       Thursday: outdoor walk – 2.09 miles

·       Friday: indoor treadmill walk – 0.89 miles

·       Saturday: indoor treadmill walk – 0.81 miles

I have my food all in check this week, so I knew I needed to shift my focus to another pilar.  The goal to gain some momentum and turn this scale around!

Weekly WI: Skipped The Scale

I skipped the scale this week arriving home from vacation Tuesday evening.

It has been a little difficult getting back into the swing of things but to keep extra pounds at bay, I am back to tracking.  I checked off the exercise box yesterday with a walk outdoors and today with an indoor bike elliptical workout.

My trip to Missouri was enjoyable.  We maximized our time seeing family which was the goal.  I didn’t take many photos that didn’t revolve around family so not much to share.  We visited a few BBQ restaurants, and I managed to sneak in two Elks Lodge visits, one in Lebanon and one in Kansas City.

Our next big vacation is in December where we will visit our timeshare in Oceanside, CA along with San Diego. We hope to see some of my extended family as well.  And you know I plan to visit some Elks Lodges too.

In the month until then, we have some quick weekend trips in our van RV.  We plan to join the Elks for a district campout and attend an out-of-town wedding.  I am looking forward to spending time getting used to van life.

Looking at the calendar, September will be a busy month.  We get our new CAD system at work which means lots of overtime not only to attend my own training sessions but to cover the dispatch console for others to attend their training.  I have some fun planned but boy will it fly by.  I really like Fall so I am excited to get this party started.
