The Other Side Of Dispatch

One of the benefits of my job is getting to ride in a police car.

(insert large grin here)

Instead of dispatching today I’ll be doing a ride-a-long with one of our troopers.  Each team has two scheduled rides a year and today is my day.

I’m not sure how much trouble we will find.  I am kind of a jinx when it comes to ride-a-longs and we usually don’t find anything good.  But I always keep hope!

Have a great weekend.

What I Ate Yesterday: Wednesday

I had another great day of eating yesterday.  Despite doing well, the scale jumped up today.  No idea why but I’m continuing to move on through and hopefully it will pass.  The scale number is just a number and doing daily WI at home has helped me see that.  When the scale goes up two pounds overnight, you know it isn’t true gain.  Try to brush off any negative feelings and move on.

So, moving on…

Here was my food from yesterday.  I’ve been using my WPPA quite rapidly this week.

Breakfast: egg muffins with bell pepper and buffalo cheddar cheese (1 PPV), two slices toast with homemade strawberry freezer jam (1 PPV), apple on the side to take to work, coffee with Hazelnut creamer (1 PPV)

Snack: cottage cheese and mango.  My coworker made a trip to Panda Express about 10:30am so I ordered a large side of mixed veggies and a side of the brown sauce for dipping (3 PPV).  Veggies always taste better with dipping sauce.

Lunch: I made an Italian version of pasta salad.  I am sooooo in love with pasta salad these days.  Whole wheat pasta, bell pepper, kidney beans, 32 grams sliced olives (1 PPV) and 30 grams turkey pepperoni (2 PPV).  I dressed my pasta salad with fat free Italian dressing

Dinner: Repeat of sorts from last night.  Chicken breast sautéed in olive oil, corn cob, green beans, and grapes for dessert

Extras: Iced decaf Americano with sugar free caramel and cream (1 PPV)

I didn’t exercise yesterday.  I was going to go to a movie with Rebecca but when plans changed being lazy sounded better.  I was in bed by 8pm.  It was glorious.  I have plans to meet up with Phoenix for a walk after work (yeah for activity) and then plans to perhaps meet Cathy for a bite to eat.

Hope your Thursday is going well.  We are almost to the weekend.  Yeah!

Wednesday Musings

Good Morning.  Happy Hump Day!

Waking up at 4am is always harder the second day.  I had the opportunity to go to bed early last night but instead I stayed up and watched TV.  The second season of “Married At First Sight” has ended and last night was the six month reunion show.  I’m only through Part 1 and it is a good reunion show.  I also got “The Bachelorette” watched yesterday as afternoon.  I am sort of irritated that each show is To Be Continued.  It is really annoying!  Our Kuna guy is still on the show but it isn’t looking good for him.  I never really saw her picking him to begin with.  It sure is an interesting season that is for sure!

After work I had to get my broken nail repaired so I grabbed an iced coffee to tide me over.  I went to Maui Wowi where they give you an umbrella.  I gotta say that sure makes coffee much more fun.

It was hard to stick to my plan of going home and eating last night but I did.  Kenyon was out and about and I wanted to suggest meeting up for dinner.  When I am focused on Simply Filling (SF) it makes thinking about food choices easier.  If we had gone out then I would have had to go back and count my whole day of food and I much prefer doing SF instead of counting PPVs right now.  So I headed home and baked a chicken breast in the oven with BBQ sauce while I cooked a corn cob and warmed some green beans on the stove.  Easy peasy.

I am craving sweets big time and I am trying really hard to keep it at bay right now.  I need a break from all the crap I’ve been eating these last few weeks.  I felt very unsatisfied and hungry all night last night.  I had two super sweet and juicy oranges after I got off work and finally had a few squares of a Hershey bar after my dinner.  That was enough to get me over the hump.  I am not avoiding sweets I just need a little bit of a break right now.  I don’t feel I am doing myself justice if I don’t make changes and stick to those changes.

So far the activity is very low this week.  I do want to ramp that up but in the mean time I am happy with my food and would like to keep my focus on my food.  The scale is coming down each day so I am happy about that!
