Tracking Week Three And Weekly WI

I’m checking in with my Weekly-WI report a day late.  My Monday night meeting was cancelled due to winter weather but thankfully the Tuesday night leader didn’t cancel.  So, I did my WI this evening before work.  I was hoping that my loss from Monday would still show up on Tuesday (hey, with the scale you never really know what will happen) and it did!  I lost 1.8 pounds this week.  WhooooHooo!

This brings my total loss for the last three weeks to 7.2 pounds and my total loss since July 2016 to 12.8 pounds.  I’m planning to keep riding this motivation train all the way to success town.  OMG, that was silly!

Tracking is working for me and doesn’t feel like a chore or a pain in the ass.  I don’t feel restrictive either.  The hardest part is being prepared with food/meals so that I know I have low point and healthy options ready to go.  Tonight is my last day of work (THANKFULLY) but I only have Wednesday off.  Then I am back on for another five-day stretch.  So, grocery shopping and meal planning will be a must tomorrow so I am all set for the remainder of this week.

Last week I had a few high point days that I was able to off-set with some low point meals/snacks around it.  And, I even enjoyed some dessert bites.  We went out to dinner at Olive Garden on Thursday and used Kenyon’s free dessert coupon for his birthday.  He picked the lemon cake and we had it boxed to take home.  Once home I had a bite and then let him finish it off.  I wasn’t feeling in the mood for sugar.  On Friday we celebrated my grandpa’s 87th birthday.  My aunt brought an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery.  It looked delicious and worth the points so I took my slice, ate a few bites, and then gave it to Kenyon.  I was able to look up the points and counted it as 1/2 of the slice for 8 SPV.  Yes you read that right.  A full slice of a large 14 inch round piece of ice cream cake is 17 SPV.  That is the main reason I work really hard to keep my sugar/desserts in check.  It is almost triple the points it once was due to the new Smart Points plan.  I can eat A LOT of other yummy stuff for 17 SPV that will hold me over much longer than a piece of ice cream cake.  And hey, I had my cake and ate it too.  OMG, I’m on a roll!  Seriously though, it was tasty but I didn’t need a whole piece.  Dessert tracked and onward we went.

I’m looking forward to fresh new week and two more days working out with my trainer.

Update On Lipsense Lipstick Review

I thought I would share with you an update on Lipsence, the smudge proof, kiss proof, all-day lipstick I’ve been wearing for about a month a half now.

I feel like my all-day wear has improved, especially when you were a lighter color.  The bold dark color of Sheer Berry starts to show wear along with waterline (the insides of your lips) and corners.  I find that when I wear a color that is closer to my lip color and/or a color that is more neutral, I don’t noticed that is it is wearing off as quickly and/or it is just less noticeable overall.  I figure if I am going to wear lip stick, I do want it to be noticeable.

I went through a very dry spell a few weeks ago in which I just couldn’t get my lips properly moisturized.  I posted on my consultant Katee’s Facebook page and found others were also experiencing it.  So I think it was just the overall winter dry weather that was affecting me.  I hear using coconut oil is helpful when removing your Lipsense so you don’t dry out your lips.  I need to get to Trader Joes (best price in town) to get some.  I’ve also been told you can use a mix of coconut oil and brown sugar as a lip scrub for those dry spells.

In the meantime, when I’m not wearing my Lipsense color, I’ve been using the Lipsense moisturizing lip balm.  The lip balm also cost $20 but this way I can spare my lip gloss and only use it when I’m wearing color.  I went through my first tube of lip gloss really fast.  I seem to be using this second tube slower so maybe the lip balm is helping that.  I just tend to wear a lot of chpstick and since I can’t (once you being the Lipsence exfoliation process you shouldn’t go back to other lips producs), I’m using the lip balm.

I’m still really happy with my Lipsense an I’m looking forward to may party later this month.  I’m a bit worried on where everybody will park with the snow situation in my neighborhood.  But, I’m excited to share this product with my friends.

I tried mixing some colors after I got my new color Fire & Ice.  I like Fire & Ice but it isn’t as red as I thought and sometimes it looks pink.  Here I am wearing just Fire & Ice.

Here I am with two layers Sheer Berry and one layer of Fire & Ice.

I love how you can mix the colors to create some new colors.  I stole this from the internet.  Using Dark Pink and Sheer Berry you can mix and match all sorts of colors.  It just depends on the layers and what you layer when.

I’m hoping at my party I can find a color to compliment Precious Topaz.  I’m just not sure I am a fan of the straight brown.  I have mixed it with Sheer Berry but I think I need something that compliments the brown but maybe brightens it up a bit?  I’m not sure but I’ve got a great consultant to guide me!

One Quarter Complete Wtih My First Personal Training Experience

Since I purchased a 12 training session package, I am now a quarter of the way through my first time with a personal trainer.  I feel like we are still in the honeymoon period and I know things will get more challenging.  But, overall, this has been a very good experience and a positive venture for getting myself healthy in 2017.

These last three sessions have been about Tyson learning about me and my activity level as well as any injuries he can spot based on how my body moves.  I feel Tyson knows a lot about injury prevention so I’m really glad he watches for that and tries to avoid any issues that might come up.

Workout One: 30 minute circuit training with a mix of weight machines and heart rate recovery moves

Workout Two: Balance movements with weights to test endurance level and injuries

Workout Three: Card “Game”

Tyson warned me the “card game” was coming.  My friend Mark, who has trained with Tyson for the last year, has also talked about it.  Well I learned all about the cards at my third training session.  Tyson has a deck of cards and each different suit means you are doing a different move.  For example:

Hearts = Burpies

Spades = Air Squats

Diamonds = Push ups

Clubs = Kettlebell swings

Then, the number on the card is the amount of reps you do for each move.  For example:

3 of hearts = 3 burpies

5 of spades = 5 air squats

Face cards also had values attached to them.  Jacks = 11 reps, Queens = 12 reps, Kings = 13 reps, Aces = 15 reps (apparently there isn’t 14 reps??)

You try and work through as many cards as you can in a 30 minute period doing whatever movement and reps come up on each card.  The only time you change movements is then the card shows a different suit.  So you might get a 3 of hearts and have to do 3 burpies and then the next card might be the ace of hearts so you have to then do another 15 burpies after the three you have completed…oh yes, this happened to me!

So, how did it go?  Well, I pretty much thought I was going to die.  But, I didn’t so that is a huge plus!  I made it through 44 cards (there are 52 cards in a deck) and I did a total of 99 burpies!  Tyson was nice to me in that I was allowed to modify the burpies so I was stepping in/out instead of jumping in/out and I was able to do push ups on my knees.  We also alternated through two different types of kettlebell swings to work different muscles.

It was a very difficult workout.  Tyson said upfront to take as many breaks as I needed and to go at my own pace.  He says often people push themselves too hard and fast and end up pucking.  I didn’t lose my breakfast but I wasn’t very comfortable either getting up/down on the floor so much.  Thankfully when the workout was over I was really happy I pushed myself to complete it.

I’ve found that happens each time I meet with Tyson.  It is very hard during the workout but I always feel great when the workout is done.

Well…except for being so sore the next two days!

Tyson wants to meet three times this week.  Oy.  I’m nervous!
