Jenny's Jamberry Launch Party

Before I came to work today, my sister Jenny had her Jamberry launch party at Lucky Perk Coffee.

She rented the back room and had a Mochas and Manis party, which sadly, wasn’t well attended.  I was bummed for her but still had a good time.  After all, I love coffee!

I have just gotten some new Jamberry wraps since I joined a club and was the rotating hostess last month.  I earned two free wraps and I bought one more using a half off credit.  I was hoping I could do a mixed mani with a plain wrap and a patterned wrap but I just didn’t have much that matched up color wise.  So, I went with a plain wrap called #fountainofyouth and I love it!

So far, I’ve not done just a plain wrap because I am all about fun patterns but this color of blue is fantastic.  I’ll have to add this to my list to re-order in the future.  I was going to make the tips of each finger silver but I just love this wrap too much to cover it up.  So, I added the accent ring finger with a tip of silver.  I don’t think I can stretch this all the way to our vacation but I am planning to put on #capecod for our upcoming cruise.

New And Different Activity Ideas

I set some goals for over the next four weeks and one of those goals is better activity accountability.

In order to help me with this, I need to find ways to motivate myself.  I talked with my WW buddy/receptionist at my meeting on Monday night and she suggested a website/You Tube videos called Tone It Up Girls.  She described them a super skinny and kind of quirky but that the workouts were fun and short.

I did some Googling and found five videos each targeting a different area and all about 15-minutes.  I figure I can warm up and cool down on the treadmill to make an easy 30-minute workout that changes daily.

I also jumped on the Leslie Sansone website, queen of the Walk Away The Pounds at-home walking videos.  I own several of her DVDs already but decided to join the monthly subscription ($4.99 per month and first month free or you can pay $49.99 for an annual subscription).  I have nothing to lose for this first month since there was a free promo code.

I will get a different walk video each day for download.  I’m super stoked to try out some of these walks.  I’m sure there will be many I’ve done before, but having a new walk each day will help to shake things up.

I’ll report in on my goals as the week progresses!

Book Review: A Life Without You by Shari Low

I finished another of Shari Low’s books this time, A Life Without You.

Have loving the fun nature of the last book I read, The Other Wives Club, I knew this book would be more somber.  Just as the last book I read, this one is written in pieces each from a different character.  I really love this writing style.

The books is about Dee, whom tragically dies at the beginning of the book.  Her mother Val (and father Don), best friend since childhood Jen, and husband Luke are all left to pick up the pieces.  You get a glimpse into the grief played out by each character while they all still interact.  There is also some secondary characters that are also important to the storyline.

I’ve downloaded another of Shari’s books, A Brand New Me, which will be much more upbeat than her last book.  I’m excited to learn about some new characters.
