Weekly WI: Out Of The 220s

I FINALLY broke out of the 220s…

…and it feels REALLY good.

It feels so good and it took so long that I’m going to work my hardest to not get back there.  The last time I was in the 2-teens was December of 2015.

Since July of 2016, when I finally got serious about my re-gain weight, I have been so close to breaking out of the 220s three times: August 2017, April of 2018, and August of 2018.  Each time I would start the climb back up and then down again only to have 220 taunt me once again.  It was wonderful to look at my weight record after my WI last Tuesday to see that I had finally done it.

Of course, I had out of town travel plans for work Tuesday through Thursday.  Usually, I don’t track while on “vacation” and after spending the last three days tracking 100% of our eating out, I know why I have always worked my program that way.

It is stressful.

I hate feeling like I am micromanaging my WW program and honestly, tracking takes all the fun out of eating out.  Sure, I could have picked restaurants that served chicken and broccoli or ordered a salad off the menu.  But, I didn’t want to.  I wanted to enjoy restaurants that we don’t have in the Boise area.  So, my plan was to use 10 WSPA each day and give it my best go at 100% tracking.

The verdict?  It all worked out okay.  I used over 10 WSPA the first day but not the two other days.  I didn’t earn my blue dots but that is okay.  Plus, I enjoyed some yummy foods.

Now that I am back in my “normal” routine (and Kenyon is on night shift for a few weeks so I’m on my own for meals) I’m going to shave off a few points a day and stick to a lot of 0 SPV or low point foods.  Maybe try to re-coop some of my WSPA.  I’m hopeful for a loss and will be happy with a maintain.  I want to lose a few more points before Europe so I have a buffer and can stay in the 2-teens upon our return.

Trooper Ride-A-Long

I might be away from the blog for a few days as I’ll be in Pocatello.  I’m attending a training in Blackfoot on Thursday.  Today, I get to go on a ride-a-long with one of our troopers on the eastern side of the state.

I’m super stoked as it has been a long time since I’ve had a ride-a-long and I’ve only ridden in the Pocatello area once.  This is totally me when I ride in a patrol car.

Of course, you’ve got to switch it around so the boy is the driver.  There is no way I could drive that fast on the roadways and navigate traffic too.  I never know how our police force/emergency services does it.

I’ll check when I can.

Have a good week.

Playing The Waiting Game

I can’t believe how close we are getting to our big Europe vacation!  Just three weeks to go and the official cruise countdown is under 30 days!  Amazing how fast and slow it feels both at the same time.

Since we are pretty much ready to go, it feels like we are just playing the waiting game now.  We still need to meet with our travel agent and collect the final travel documents.  She was out of town last week and we are out of town mid-week.  I hope we get word from her that the documents are ready.  But again, it is just a waiting game.  We had some foreign currency delivered to the house last week.  It totally looks like fake money.  And, the more I stalk the various Instagram pages, the more I am convinced I was born on the wrong side of the world!

My friend Danielle arrives home from her Scotland trip today.  I can’t wait to meet up with her to hear all about her trip.  I’ve been lucky enough to get a couple of text messages/photos from her.  It makes me all the more excited to visit Europe.

When I met with Rebecca last night at Yardhouse on Saturday night, I was telling her how I am continuously reminding myself that all the yummy food and alcohol (BEER!!) is coming soon.  It helps me resist when I feel the need to have a beer especially since the Sam Adams Octoberfest beer has hit the stores.  It is one of my favorite seasonal beers.

Since Kenyon and I are getting the suitcases out of the closet for our trip to Pocatello this coming week, maybe I’ll do my practice packing again.  I keep wanting to and then I remind myself that I don’t need to keep getting clothes out just to have to put them back away.  I don’t really feel like I need to fine tune my packing and am feeling confident overall.  I decided to get a new pair of tennis shoes for our trip.

When I bought my Sketchers Go Walk Joy, in hopes of having cute shoes to go with my capris, they didn’t have adequate arch support and I’ve pretty much killed my right foot!  So, I got some new Ghost 10 in a very bright color.  The new Launch 5 came out and are discounted.  I like the natural color of the gray shoe and it was more of what I was looking for when I bought those Sketchers.  I can always return them as it is free shipping each way.  I’ll have to try them out and see what I think.
