Called In, Called Off

My morning started with a phone call at 4 AM and coverage at work for a coworker. Then I got a call at 5 AM saying we possibly have enough coverage. I went ahead and went into work just in case but was happy to see that I could come back home. I was torn between wanting the overtime money and wanting my day off. Plus it is my WI day and I’m going to my Mom’s meeting today because she’s really close to getting her 100 pound award.

On my way home from work last night I stopped and got two Redbox movies on a coupon. I just finished watching Ocean’s Eight and a little later today I have the Spy Who Dumped Me.  I enjoyed Ocean Eights cause I really like heist movies.

I’ve still got to get my exercise in a little later today and there’s probably also a nap on my agenda.

I’ll report back in on my WI tomorrow. I’m definitely hoping for a successful scale number since I had a successful week of tracking.

Creamy Crockpot White Chicken Chili from Skinnyish Dish

Another recipe I tried from Skinnyish Dish was her Creamy Crockpot White Chicken Chili.  I don’t think my photos were that great so I’ll let you look at her more professional ones.

Oh…the chili was delicious!

As you know, I didn’t follow it exactly.

  • I pre-cooked and shredded the chicken in the Instant Pot since I was needing chicken for another recipe.  Then, I combined all the ingredients in the crockpot and cooked it on low overnight.
  • I halved the recipe and since it is all most 0 SPV foods, I split it into two portions.
  • I used 2 oz of light cream cheese (6 SPV) but omitted the half and half so I could cut down on points.

Each of my servings was 4 SPV, 6 SPV for the cream cheese and 2 SPV for the chicken broth.  I liked the cream cheese okay but for even less points, I’d be okay with leaving that out and putting in a dollop of sour cream.

I am looking forward to my second helping and I’ll be making this again for sure.

Every Minute Adds Up

When I woke up on Friday, my foot/heal was really hurting.  I suspect it was my overzealous attitude to start exercise again.  Doh!  I wanted to stay committed to my November Activity Challenge but I also don’t want to overdo it at the very beginning.  I rolled out my foot on this trigger point ball I recently purchased and did some stretching.  It felt better and I knew I could try to make up some activity time on the treadmill at work.

I had to go to HR and pay my $20.  In an attempt to get the general funds up, they are allowing us to wear jeans each Friday for the month of November if you pay $20.  Sign me up!  I decided since I’d not gotten any activity minutes today that I would park at dispatch and walk to HR.  I also took the long way back so I could get a little bit more activity time.

My jean stickers so everybody knows I'm legit

Activity doesn’t have to mean you are sweating and every minute adds up.  I’m hoping my foot will feel better tomorrow and I can get in some activity before work.  I have started tracking my activity days on a calendar with a tennis shoe emoji.
