New Coffee Maker: Keurig K-Duo Plus

Oh the things that excite us as adults.

We have been on the hunt for a combined coffee maker that can brew both K-cups and ground coffee.  The reason for this would be so we can use up less counter space.  I already have my Starbucks Verismo coffee maker which brews my delicious Starbucks espresso.  Then, we have a traditional Keurig brewer.  When Kenyon wants ground coffee, the Coffee Mate coffee pot would get pulled out of the cabinet.

Last week, Kenyon spotted the Keurig K-Duo Plus at Costco.  What we loved about this one is it had an insulated carafe instead of the glass carafe as we had spotted on the cheaper duo models.  Kenyon prefers brew one pot of coffee and drink on it all night long so we like the insulation.

This is also a traditional Keurig and also brews K-cups.  There are many more settings and cup sizes then our old Keurig too.

So far this has been a bit hit.  I love the sleek design and how compact it feels.  I will also enjoy this new coffee maker when I entertain since I can brew a full pot of coffee.  My Dad always has a pot of coffee brewing when Grandpa comes for dinner so now I can return the favor.  I feel like I got my love of coffee from my father.  When I was a kid, he always had coffee brewing and I love the smell of coffee brewing.

Weekly WI:2nd Loss In A Row

Drum Roll Please…

I was so happy to see a loss at my WW Studio tonight.  I loved the foods I ate this week and really enjoyed changing it up.  I am glad my body agreed especially since I had such a large loss last week.  It blows my mind to have had another great loss this week.

And, this is just wanted I need pre-vacation.  But, unless in the past were I like that “buffer” before vacation, I have no desire to have to lose this weight again so this extra bit of loss will help me stay motivated.  I am really going to try and find the balance between fun and mindfulness.

I also have my sights on getting over the 95 pound hump again and that won’t happen if I eat and drink with reckless abandon in Vegas.  So, I’ll be thinking on it and getting a plan in place along with staying mindful with eat meal.

I am going to get on the treadmill before midnight and also after midnight so I can keep my activity game strong before we leave town.  While there won’t be any formal activity, I will be getting in plenty of walking.  When we return from vacation, I’ll get back to some weight activity too.  I know lifting weights is helping my weight loss efforts and also making me feel good in my clothes.

The Purple Plan was a great way to shake this up this last week.  I do plan to try and follow the Purple Plan while we are on vacation.  Or at least I’ll do my best when I have the option.  I am not sure I’ll really track but I think what will really help is if I at least track my alcohol.  With just 17 DSPA, maybe this will help me evaluate if I really need another beer.  Also, I will not have any sugar/treats/dessert.  That is an easy thing I can sway away from and I know sugar affects me big time.  I am willing to give up treats.  The only possibility is if we go to The Cheesecake Factory, which tends to be a tradition. Then, I’ll partake in a shared slice with Kenyon.  If we hit up a buffet or tow, I will probably just skip it.  Again, I don’t want to stress over it.  I just want to be mindful.

And with that…I better get on the treadmill!

Ended My First Week On The Purple Plan

Hello and Happy Sunday.

My first full week of being on the Purple Plan with the recent rollout of myWW is about to come to an end.  It has been a great week as far as my usual goals go.

I earned blue dots all week

I exercised six of seven days

And my water intake has been its usual stellar self.  I had one day where I felt a bit dehydrated and had a bit too much espresso and nursed a headache the next day.  But, feeling better now.

I also tried out some new foods this week and enjoyed the varied meal plan.

I wasn’t 100% rotating a lot of foods in/out because of our upcoming vacation.  But, the shakeup was good for my taste buds.  I’ll know tomorrow if it was good for the scale too.

I am prepping myself for the unknown tomorrow.  When you change things up anything can happen.  I have heard stories of weight gain after starting the Purple Plan.  I ate differently this week and that alone can mean anything.

Have a great evening and I’ll report back tomorrow.
