The Benefits Of Being Off Track

Gooooood Morning!  Happy Monday and Welcome May.

I can’t believe we are already in May.  You wouldn’t even know it from our wild weather.  I am ready for sunshine and warmer temps which are coming later this week.  I hope this time it will finally stick around for a while.

Life has been busy.  I was looking at my June calendar thinking about how busy June is going to be and now looking at my May calendar…boy is it busy too!   This year is just flying by.

I had a large and unexpected gain last week and let it tank my mental game.  I have been off-track all week.

One good thing about being horribly off track is eventually I hit my limit, and I can’t wait to start eating better and moving more.  I wish I was better at turning it around mid-week and sometimes I am.  Over the course of last week, it just got progressively worse and worse.

Despite the large gain, I ended the month of April with a loss.  That is a WIN in my book.

Looking back now, I really wish I had not made such a mess of the last week.  I am not feeling very confident getting on the scale Tuesday if I decide to.

So, what have I been up to?  Last week was packed with fun.  On Tuesday I attended the funeral of fallen officer from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Bolter.  Wednesday was the annual ILETS Conference at the Riverside Hotel.  Thursday was a Kate University introductory pickle ball class at The Flying Pickle, a new indoor pickle ball court.  We had a meet-and-greet with taco bar and then spent about an hour and a half playing pickle ball.  It was a great tutorial that was easy to learn and lots of fun to play.

I was in the Kentucky Derby spirit on Saturday at work.  Sadly, no party and no Mint Julep as I was on the clock.

I took Sunday off with a jam-packed day.  It started by watching my friend Jenny play flag football.  I can’t believe we have been friends for 20 years!  I wore my Cinco do Mayo hat that I got in Ensenada, Mexico.

My week of fun needs to come to an end.  I am eager to put better food into my body so I can start feeling better again.
