Thursday Fun At The Farmstead

My days off were split this week with Monday and Tuesday off (well, part of Tuesday) and then off again on Thursday.  It was low key but enjoyable and I always love when I get days off with Kenyon.
We are starting to redeem free birthday meals and there are a lot of them.  We started with Red Robin yesterday and this evening we will go to Tucanos.  I’m working really hard to balance the meals out and pre-plan so I know where my points are going to be at for the day.
Red Robin has a ton of low point options and they have points calculated for you in the WW app.  I knew I was having their Oktoberfest burger, which was back for the season.  It had ham, caramelized onion, Swiss cheese (which appeared to have been left out), mustard, and a pretzel bun.  I did some WW pre-planning and doing my best estimate.  I also ate only half and had a side salad in place of french fries as well as a refill of salad.  It wasn’t quite as delicious as I had hoped for the amount of points I spent on it but I still enjoyed the burger.

I had a low point breakfast, 0 SPV snack, and am having a low point lunch to offset Tucanos this evening.  I also have plenty of WSPA available if I need it.
Kenyon and I planned to take my nieces to The Farmstead since we got them season passes for Christmas and they had not yet redeemed them. Hailey decided not to come so Emma invited a friend.  We had the best time with these two little girls.  Emma is just a hoot and has always had the best personality.

She didn’t want to leave when it was time to get home and rounded up for bed, school, and work.  She said, “I don’t want to go to stupid school tomorrow.”  I told her, “I don’t want to go to stupid work tomorrow either but I don’t have a choice.”  Kids!  I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything especially when they whine, argue, and complain.  But when they are behaved, kids are pretty fun.
Okay, time to get back to “stupid work”.  Ha!

Thanksgiving Celebration & Holiday Card Photos

Good Morning. At least it is still morning here in Idaho. I have been super lazy today and enjoyed it immensely!

I had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house yesterday. We were all in attendance except for one of my uncles who drives long haul semi. It is rare to have all of my siblings together so it was really nice. Kenyon was able to come as well as my sister Jenny's husband Will. Katie had her new boyfriend Kevin. There were 16 people total and even though my siblings and I are all in our mid-late thirties, the kids table is still the best seat in the house!

I didn't take any photos and my mom wished we had since we were all together. I think we will all be together for Christmas and I suspect Uncle Burke will be there too. We will have to make sure we get some photos. I love the holiday season and family time. It is my favorite.

I had my sister Katie take photos of Kenyon and I for me to use in our holiday photo card. I don't usually share the photos until after the cards have gone out. If you are on my photo card list and reading this blog, I guess you get a preview! My Mom had the fun idea to have the gnome “photo bomb” us. We had Hailey holding the gnome behind us. I'll admit, this was a fun idea. We also took some silly photos with mustaches from this game the girls have called Moustache Smash. It is a really fun game.

Emma was in a bit of a bad mood for part of the afternoon and was feeling left out that Hailey got to be in the photo holding the gnome but Emma didn't. Since I was planning to crop her out and use the top half of us on our holiday photo card I told Katie Emma could be in the photo. It wasn't until after we were done that Katie pointed out how Emma didn't even smile in the first few. This is a typical Katie face from years ago when Katie was younger.

Boy that Emma is a stinker but she is so darn cute.

I think Kenyon and I will go to Festival of Trees tonight. I got our Christmas tree set up last night but we will need to decorate it. I also got the living room decorations up. I'll start listening to the 24/7 Christmas song radio channel when I am in my car. I love this time of year.

Happy 10th Birthday Hailey Bug!!!

Happy Birthday Hailey Bug!

We celebrated my niece Hailey’s 10th birthday on Friday night.  I can’t believe it was ten years ago that I became an aunt.

Hailey was dubbed Lady Bug, or Bug for short. She is still our Bug and will always be.

She had a pillow she carried around with her for the first few years of her life. Her pillow, which was dubbed “peeps” or “the peepster” as she grew and became more creative, followed her everywhere. When Hailey went through her Care Bear phase it was quite fun and I acquired a few Care Bears at my house.

Zoo Fun

I met my sister Katie and her girls at the zoo last week. It was an overcast day with nice cool temps. Katie's neighbor girl also joined us.

The Butterflies in Bloom exhibit was up and running this year. It is where you go into an area with butterflies flying all around you. They even will land on you. Due to the overcast day, there were not many flying around or wings opened.

I totally didn't see that guy in the background.  Hahahaha.

We also saw some babies! We spotted a tiny baby monkey and also saw the recent snow leopard cubs that were born at the zoo.

What is up with me and butt shots at the zoo?

I really enjoy spending time with my nieces.
