Book Review: The Bachelors Of Buttermilk Falls Series & Falling For Mr. Wright By Robyn Neeley

I was all prepared to tell you today about the newest book I’ve read from an author I really enjoyed.  Then, I looked back at my prior book reviews and I see that I never told you about Robyn Neeley yet.  What??  This is a catastrophe in that you’ve not been able to read these great books.  But, the plus size is now you can binge-read them back-to-back, which is how I love to read series books.

So, let me get right to it!  The first books I read were the Bachelor of Buttermilk Falls series.  I actually downloaded the first four books and read them at rapid speed.  I stumbled on the fifth book a few weeks ago and loved it just as much.  Since it had been several months since I read the other four books, I was a bit confused with the details of the backstory.  But, I loved them all just so much.

This series has magic in it.  I’ve always wished I had magic powers so it made the series so much fun.  Robyn is also really good that you can feel the connection between her main characters in how she write about them.  The only other author that has done this for me is Terri Osburn.  I still highly recommend her Anchor Island series.  It’s wonderful.

So, here are the five books in The Bachelor of Buttermilk Falls series.

Batter Up starts out the series with Emma, the owner of a bakery who has the ability to predict the name of an eligible bachelor’s true love in her cupcake batter.  The male character is Jason, who is a reporter that wants to expose Emma as a fraud.

 

Tangled Up is about Abby, who is Emma’s cousin, and who also has some magic powers of her own.  She just hasn’t zoned in perfecting them yet.  The male character is Brandon, a friend of Jason’s.

 

Kiss and Make Up is about Josh, who is a brother to Abby. His female character is Caitlin, who he has known since growing up in Buttermilk Falls.

 

Holiday Hook Up is about Adam, who we were introduced to in the other books.  Adam just so happens to have a distant cousin named Mary, who also has magic powers, and hasn’t seemed to be able to crossover.  Mary sure does love to cause trouble.  The female character is Bethany, who has longed for Adam since she was fourteen years old. 

 

One Sweet Match Up is about Donovan, a resident of Buttermilk Falls who has just moved back after selling his restaurant in Denver, Colorado.  Donovan is also the brother of Rachel, a character we met in Holiday Hook Up.  I suspect if there is a sixth book, it will be about Rachel.  The female character in this book is Zoe, who known Donovan from her past but isn’t sure Donovan remembers her.

 

After I read One Sweet Match Up, I went searching for more of Robyn’s books.  I read Falling For Mr. Wright in about a day and a half.  It was so good I could hardly put it down!

Falling For Mr. Wright is about two office friends, Sarah and Ryan.  Sarah asks for Ryan’s help in her quest to date her boss, Logan, who is also Ryan’s best childhood friend.  The chemistry between Sarah and Ryan is off the charts!  I seriously found myself crying over the agony of reading their thoughts.  This is a really good book.

 

I’ve downloaded Holiday Wedding and Destination Wedding.  I can’t wait to get started on them.

Book Review: A Life Without You by Shari Low

I finished another of Shari Low’s books this time, A Life Without You.

Have loving the fun nature of the last book I read, The Other Wives Club, I knew this book would be more somber.  Just as the last book I read, this one is written in pieces each from a different character.  I really love this writing style.

The books is about Dee, whom tragically dies at the beginning of the book.  Her mother Val (and father Don), best friend since childhood Jen, and husband Luke are all left to pick up the pieces.  You get a glimpse into the grief played out by each character while they all still interact.  There is also some secondary characters that are also important to the storyline.

I’ve downloaded another of Shari’s books, A Brand New Me, which will be much more upbeat than her last book.  I’m excited to learn about some new characters.

Book Review: The Other Wives Club by Shari Low

I just got done reading “The Other Wives Club” by Shari Low.  I think I selected this book a while ago because it came up in an Amazon email and was cheap.  I was looking for a fun read and this was right on point!

The book is about this man named Drew, who is turning 50 and books a cruise to the Mediterranean with his current wife, his two ex-wives, and his family.  Add to that one of his ex-wives new husband and his adult son and you have one dysfunctional family setting. 

I love the way the author set the book up into three pieces per chapter, the viewpoint of Tess, the current wife, Sarah, the first wife, and Mona, the second wife (who stole Drew from the Sarah).  What also makes this book interesting is that all three women are about ten years apart in age difference.  The author writes about once incident but you get to read how each of the three women react and what each other think about the other.  At times, it is quite funny!

The setting on the cruise ship makes me long for our next vacation.  The author is from Gasgow. Scottland so the writing is very Scottish with words like mum, cow, and favourite.  It just adds to the uniqueness of this book.

I’ve downloaded another of her books “A Life Without You”, which I am sure will be more emotional than this light hearted fun summer read I just finished.

Her Hopes And Dreams: Book Four Of Ardent Springs Series

I never wrote my book review on the fourth book in the Ardent Springs series by one of my favorite authors, Terri Osburn.

 

 

Side note: I am now FB friends with Terri Osburn and when she replies to my comments, I get giddy as a school girl.  Sooooo cool.

Okay, now back to the fourth book “Her Hopes and Dreams.”

First off, if you haven’t read any of Terri Osburn’s novels, you have to read the Anchor Island series.  The Ardent Springs series is a very close second.  Make sure you read her other three Ardent Springs books before you read “Her Hopes and Dreams.”

 

 

 

Since the series introduces to a new character somewhere in the previous book, we met Carrie Farmer in “My One and Only.”  Carries lives on the property of Noah Winchester and like most romance novels, they start out not liking each other.  I am a sucker for those books that start with conflict and then quickly grow into interested and then the story continues to sizzle with passion.  What I love most about Terri Osburn is her ability to write so vividly about her main characters and create such a connection that you can feel it through the pages of the book.  I was never a huge fan of Carrie but in this book, we really got to learn more about her and how she developed into the type of woman she became.  Noah, always the protector, is definitely a man I would like to meet in-between the bed sheets (shhhh…don’t tell my husband).

In this book we also get a tiny glimpse at Abby Williams, the main character in the next book “The Last in Love” which is due out in May of 2017.  I say this every time, they just can’t write as fast as I can read!  I’m super excited for the next installment of Ardent Springs.

 

My One And Only: Book Three Of Ardent Springs Series

I’d been hanging onto the third installment of Terri Osburn’s series, Adrent Springs for a few weeks now.  I’m not sure what the hold up was because I knew as soon as I started the book that I wouldn’t be able to put it down.  Due to some slow nights at work and lots of hours to read, I finished it in record time.

But that is easy to do with Teri Osburn’s books.

In book three of Ardent Springs My One And Only, we get to interact with main characters Cooper and Haleigh.  We met Cooper in books one and two but she only briefly mentioned Haleigh.  I had been curious to know more of her back story.  Boy did Terri give her a good backstory.

As with the other two Ardent Spring books and all four of the Anchor Island books, the sizzle and chemistry between the two main characters is written so vividly.  It is like you can feel the sexual tension radiating off the pages of the book.  I think the strong connection you feel between the two main characters is also what makes her books hard to put down.

As with any good book/series….I’m left waiting for the next one. 

Book Review: Ardent Springs Series

After reading the Anchor Island Novel series from Terri Osburn, I recently purchased the first book of her Ardent Springs series.  I was hooked!

His First and Last was fantastic.  Once again I quickly fell in love with the main characters Lorelei and Spencer.  Terri has a way of creating chemistry between her main characters that has you waiting on pins and needles to find out what happens.  I couldn’t put the book down.

 

I read book one in a matter of days and thankfully book two was already available for download.  Our Now and Forever was just a great.  I love books that are in a series because it threads the common characters together while introducing new characters.  We met Snow in book one and in book two we meet Caleb.  Once again this book has amazing chemistry between Snow and Caleb.

 

I am eager to read book three My One and Only, which is due out May 17^th.  In book one, we met Cooper and got a slight hit at his leading lady Haleigh.  I am anxious to learn more about Haleigh and how her romance with Cooper will develop.

 

I highly recommend both the Anchor Novel Series and the Ardent Springs Series.  Keep it up Terri.  You have me hooked!

More To Give (An Anchor Island Novel)

I wrote a blog post about the Anchor Island Novels written by Terri Osburn.  Soon after Terri commented that there was another book coming and it would tie the series together and wrap it up.  She wasn’t kidding.

 

 

And I love this book just as much as the other three.  I will truly miss these characters.  I look forward to reading more from Terri in the future as well.

More To Give is a piggy back book to a character we have already met, Sam, who owns the hotel in town.  We also get to meet Callie, an adorable young woman that comes to Anchor Island to help renovate one of Sam’s hotels.  There is history between Sam and Callie and as the book progresses we see Sam in a whole new light.

I’ll admit, Sam didn’t seem like much of an interesting character when I saw he was the lead of the next book.  I am glad I read the book though and Sam turned out to be wonderful.  The mystery surrounding him made the book so much more fun. 

Much like the other three books in the Anchor Island series, I couldn’t put this book down.  I read it in a few days and really enjoyed it.

I highly recommend reading the Anchor Island Novels.

Book Review(s): St. Helena Vineyard Series

I just got finished reading all five books in the St. Helena Vineyard Series by author Marina Adair.  They are wonderful.

I had an opportunity to purchase the fifth book, From The Moment We Met, for $1.99 on Amazon.  I realized after I was a chapter into the book that this book was part of a series.  While I was ready to read this whole book right away I wanted to start from the beginning.  So, I bought all of the other four books for $4.99 each (that is how Amazon Kindle hooks you). 

The St. Helena Vineyard Series introduces us to the DeLuca family and their vineyards.  There are four brothers; Gabe, Nate, Marco, and Trey; one sister; Abigail; and the matriarch of the family their grandmother ChiChi.  I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each character as well as the other outer lying characters in this small town.  My favorite part of a series of books is how all the characters throughout weave together.  I love reading about past characters in new books and learning about future characters (such as Sheriff Jonah and Need You For Keeps coming out in March of 2015).

In Kissing Under the Mistletoe we meet the oldest of the DeLuca boys, Gabe, and his female love interest Regan Martin.  The reason I started at the beginning is because you need to meet Regan in Book One so that Book Five makes sense.  Again, this is why I love the thread of characters in a book of series.  Anyway, I do think Book One was my favorite.  I loved the chemistry between Gabe and Regan and I loved Regan’s little girl Holly. 

Summer in Nampa would, Book two, is my next favorite book.  Marco DeLuca and Alexis “Lexi” Moreau have a bit of a past together.  I was constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see where the author would take these characters.  It really kept me engaged since both characters lives right across from each other and that sizzle between them was always ignited.  This was an excellent book.  We also start to learn more about other common characters.

My least favorite book was Autumn in the Vineyard and it actually took me the longest amount of time to read.  I had high hopes as I felt I identified with Nate, the organized one of the group.  What also had my hopes up is that I also liked the non-nonsense tough-as-nails female character Frankie Baudouin.  I think part of why this wasn’t my favorite book is because there was a lot of history between Frankie and Nate and I think it was lacking the chemistry from when two characters first meet.  I sort of felt I missed out on that.  What I did like about this book is that you start to get more insight into other characters and are introduced to some of the Baudouin family, which is important. 

Be Mine Forever was a really fun book.  The baby of the DeLuca boys, Trey, is the playboy of the group.  However, once we meets sweet Sara everything changes.  I love Sara’s son (oh man I can’t remember his name).  That kid cracks me up.

Finally, From the Moment We Met, wraps up most of the DeLuca story with the only DeLuca sister Abby and “Hard Hammer Tanner.”  Even though Tanner and Abby have past involvement, I really enjoyed this book.  We also see many things come full circle and throughout each book of the series we learn more of the DeLuca siblings and their female counter parts. 

We still don’t have a resolution with Grandmother ChiChi and her long lost love interest…the identity of whom you will have to read to find out!

I look forward to reading more from the St. Helena Vineyard Series.

Anchor Island Novels by Terri Osburn

I just finished reading a really great book trilogy that I wanted to share with you all.  I am a hopeless romantic at heart and I love the books where boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl break up, and just when you think it might not end well, boy and girl live happily ever after.  Yep, hopeless romantic at heart!

Throw in some good between-the-sheets-action and I’m a happy camper when it comes to romance novels.  It is rare to find a good book that I just can’t put down.  This series is just that though and you won’t want to put the books down.

I found the Anchor Island Novel series on Amazon.  The first book came up on the $1.99 Amazon romance book list and I purchased it. 

I sought out the second one as soon as I finished the first one.  I love when I read a series of books that have already been written so I don’t have to wait!  However, I did have to wait for the third book.

Somehow I was able to partake in an early read of this third book if I joined some sort of free Amazon Kindle Club.  Hey, works for me.  I just wanted to read this third book.  I had become quite invested in the characters.  I think the third book was my favorite and I just couldn’t put it down. 

The Anchor Island Novel series follows six main characters: Beth, Lucas, Joe, Sid, Randy, and Will.  There are also many colorful characters throughout the book.  The chemistry between each couple is really what makes this series so great.  The friendship that develops between the women also makes my heart happy.

If you are looking for a fun easy read that will have you hooked, you should check out Terri Osburn Anchor Island Novel series. 

I would actually love to see this series continue but not with new supporting characters.  I want to know what happens to these six main characters I’ve invested so much time in.  I hate sometimes when good books have to come to an end.
