Weekly WI: No Celebration Yet

Good Morning…er…almost Afternoon.

My grand plans or waking up early and being productive didn’t quite work out.  But, I did get some activity in on the treadmill at home since I skipped my workout class at the gym.  The darn snow made me second guess it and sleep in.

Welp, we didn’t get to celebrate yesterday.  The scale appeared to be confused and show a gain of 0.8 instead of a loss of 0.8.  I’d like to say I was surprised but I wasn’t.  I have this feeling all week that it wasn’t going to be the celebration day.  Of course I gave it 100%, earned blue dots all week, got in some activity, and did meal prep this week.  So, I’m hoping it was just a fluke and if I stay the course before vacation, maybe it will come back off before we leave town Saturday.

I was really bummed.  I’m still working through my feeling and making sure to not tank my long-term success on the temporary feelings right now.  Plus, with vacation on the horizon, missing my meeting next week, and then having to do my next weigh-in post-vacation, I’m just going to go my very best to stay positive and stay the course.  I feel confident that sometime in the month of February, I’ll see that 100-pound loss again and we will get to celebrate.

Super Bowl Sunday & Goundhog Day

Happy Super Bowl Sunday AND Groundhog Day!!

I am not a football fan.  I am merely a “score watcher” and if the game is tight, I can really get into it the last few minutes of the game.  But, I’ve always been down for a good party and Super Bowl Sunday always has good parties.  We are having a party at work and I was thinking ahead in offering to bring zero point chili!  So I’m all set for a blue-dot-earning points-friendly day.  I even packed a Built Bar for “dessert” as well as some strawberries and fat free cottage cheese so I have options.  I have 4 DSPA left and so I’ll probably have some tortilla chips.  I love tortilla chips.

Speaking of Built Bars…I left mine at HOME yesterday.  EPIC FAIL.  I debated making a trip back home to pick it up or waiting until 3am to try out the new flavor.  I white knuckled through my work shift and enjoyed every bite of the peanut butter brownie when I got home.  It takes the peanut butter to the next level and is really, really, similar to a dessert/candy bar.  This bar as well as the coconut almond are really candy bar like.  They might be my two favorite, although I do like the regular peanut butter too.  I’m trying to finish eating up the orange and caramel, which I ordered back in September.

Okay…back to football!  Even tough I am not a fan of the game, I am 100% loyal and I’m stoked Kansas City Chiefs are in the big game today.  I have family in KC and Lebanon and I’m rooting for the Chiefs today.  I’m even going to wear my red polo to work.

We aren’t able to wear jeans in dispatch as much as we used to so I’m bummed we won’t have a dress-down comfy day to go with our party.  I’m hoping for a quick shift tonight as I am on Day 3 of 6.

And…it’s Groundhog Day!  Word is P-Phil (that is what I like to call him) didn’t see his shadow so we are in for an early spring.  I can believe that in Boise since we have had a very mild winter.  Don’t be surprise though to get a spring winter storm.  That is the norm here.

I noticed on Facebook from the year I’ve posted about the groundhog predictions that they seem to flip-flop every other year.  Interesting.  I’ve always been skeptical of this system so this confirms it.  I should do the meteorological predictions and earn an extra income.

Happy Sunday!

Chow Mien x 2

I’m trying out a Chow Mien recipe for a second time and keeping my fingers crossed it is delicious.  So far, the taster is and I’ll see how it re-heats later at work.  I'm having it with General Tso's Chicken. I doubled the recipe and split this into two servings.

The last time I made this recipe, it was a bit dry.  I added half a cup of chicken stock and let it simmer in it and thicken near the end of cooking.  I also broke the dry pasta in half so it combined better with the cabbage (coleslaw) and celery.

Also…this came today…

Eeeeek!  I did really great keeping my sweet tooth at by yesterday but today, I’ve pre-tracked 4 points so I can try one of these peanut butter brownie Built Bars.  I caved and ordered on the 15% off deal and wanted to try the PB brownie vs. just the PB, which I also like. I’m hoping this is worth every bite because I’ve been wanting to eat it since it arrived this afternoon.  But, I’m saving it for after one of my meals at work for my dessert.
