Weekly WI: Self-Compassion

You know, if I keep extending my absence from this space in the World Wide Web…I’m going to lose some of my 12 internet followers!

How the heck have you been?

Our WW Technique last week was all about self-compassion.  More so, it was about shifting your mindset from self-criticism to self-compassion and when we practice this change, our brains can build new neuropathways.  With repetition, we can start meeting ourselves more with compassion than criticism.

After officially canceling my YMCA membership and joining Planet Fitness, I turned to Chat GPT to help build me an exercise plan where I included in the prompt that I was getting back to the gym after a several month hiatuses and needed to build my strength back.  I also only wanted a 5-day plan as I know I can’t get to the gym Mondays and Friday.

Viola!

I have completed three gym check-ins and the best part…the use of the MASSAGE CHAIRS at the end of my workout.  Pure heaven!

I also asked Chat GPT to put together a 5-day meal plan leaning into Zero Point Foods.  I wanted it designed around 28 points and day and include use of crockpot, air fryer, instant pot, and casserole recipes.  Here is one day:

Day 1 — Crockpot Chicken Taco Chili

Breakfast — 5 Points: 2 eggs scrambled with peppers/onions, 1 slice whole-grain toast, and fruit.

Lunch — 7 Points: Turkey sandwich with lean turkey breast, 2 slices bread, lettuce, tomato, mustard and a light cheese slice. Add carrots or fruit.

Dinner — 3 Points: Put 1½–2 lbs chicken breast, 1 can black beans, 1 can corn, 1 can fire-roasted tomatoes, 1 can diced green chiles, 1 cup salsa and taco seasoning in the crockpot. Cook LOW 6–7 hours or HIGH 3–4 hours, shred the chicken and stir. Most of the base is ZeroPoint; use your Points for a little shredded cheese or crushed tortilla chips.

Snacks — 6 Points: Nonfat Greek yogurt with berries and a little granola, plus popcorn.

Daily total: 21 Points, leaving about 7 Points flexible.

If only the rest of life felt this easy!  It has been a good week and with some social events on my calendar this weekend, I am feeling in a better place both physically and mentally.  My clothes also seem to be fitting slightly better..
