Happy Friday

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you all.  Since I am working the weekends now I am just starting my work week.  It was my first day waking up at 4am and it went pretty well.  I am sure I’ll be ready for an early bedtime this evening.

I don’t have much to share today.  I need to round up some blog content for you all.  If you have an suggestions of what you would like to see, please share.

I’ve been working this week on healthy foods and doing pretty well.  Yesterday was just an odd food day in that I had healthy foods but I also had some treats here and there that I ate for no rhyme or reason.  I hate when I mindlessly eat.  I think I was just bored at work last night.  Who knows.

Today is a fresh day and I love that!  I had an egg sandwich for breakfast on Great Harvest bread and packed my snack and lunch for work.  I will make something quick and easy when I get home from work.  I’m trying to keep my spending in check for the next week and a half and after eating out earlier this week I need to use the food I bought at the store and cook at home.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Weekly WI

It has been a busy few days off work but I am back at it with an overtime shift this afternoon/evening.  It is weird that overtime is sort of dropping off due to less vacation requests and more staff.  I am not sure whether to be excited or scared.  I love the extra money.  I just need to remind myself that I don’t need it and it is okay to relax a bit on the OT.  Still a weird feeling though.
My Tuesday WI went well.  I had a really great week but I still showed a gain of 0.6 pounds on the scale at my meeting.  That is okay.  If I didn’t have to put clothes on to go do my WI, I probably would have had a loss.  So nothing to get upset over.
My goal this week is to kick up the activity.  Heck, just starting up activity would really be the right phrase.  I did some activity Tuesday and Wednesday but today I opted for sleeping in instead.  Hopefully I’ll feel like pushing through a small workout during my work week this week.
I am still really excited about Weight Watcher’s new advertisements.  When I got home from my meeting this was in the mail.

It says: "There will always be a reason to eat cake.  But with a weight-loss plan for your body and a support system for your brain, Weight Watchers can give you the skills and support you need when it gets tricky. Because no matter where you are on your weight-loss journey, one thing is certain – Cake Happens"

There was a gal in my WW meeting that used the online 24/7 support and really thought it helped.  That is wonderful to hear.  I love WW but obviously I’m baised.

Dry Creek Mercantile - Hidden Springs

I had a wonderful lunch date with Jamie and her girls on Monday.

Jamie’s daughter Veronica had put a book on hold at the library in Hidden Springs.  I have only been to Hidden Springs twice and knew of it when I walked a half marathon a few years ago as the race course took us through this cute community.

Hidden Springs sits outsde of Boise a few miles and once you arrive there it feels like you are in a totally different place.  The cute houses have such character.  We had lunch at The Dry Creek Mercantile.  Jamie and her girls had been before and she raved about the homemade chicken tortilla soup.  It was delicious.

What was equally delicious was the homemade tortilla strips that came with it.  I also loved their coffee.  The Dry Creek Mercantile has so many yummy menu items I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza.  Or more soup!

It was the perfect day for soup as it was cold, dreary, and we had some freezing rain.  I wish we had more time to explore this tiny community.  I hear they have all sorts of events in the summertime.  I will be back for sure.
