It was another great weekend on the books!
Saturday evening I met back up with Danielle and
her brother. Danielle and I had tickets
to see Pauley Shore at the Liquid Laughs Comedy Club but he had to cancel
earlier in the week due to the death of his mother. The club rescheduled our tickets (which I am
out of town for….waaaaahhhh) and allowed us to attend the back-up comic for
free.
We started our evening at Probst! hoping to try
some of their German food. It was pretty
busy and thankfully due to the nice weather, we snagged a seat outside. We each ordered a beer and decided to share a
couple of pretzels since the menu didn’t look as appetizing as we had thought.
From there, we walk to the comedy club to see if
we could get Danielle’s brother in, since he didn’t have an original ticket
like we did. Once that was a go, we
decided to have a bite to eat at the club.
Last time I had the Gyro so this time I tried the chicken tacos. Holy Spicy!
The tortilla chips were good though.
Sadly, we have seen the same comic three times now. He needs new material (not entirely his fault
as we have been to the comedy club a lot recently and will be there again next
Saturday for the reschedules Jay Mohr show).
The other three comics were really funny. We had a great time.
The highlight of the night was ice cream at The STIL
after the show. The STIL is a new ice cream
parlor in town that has up to four varieties of alcohol-infused ice cream. And, they do ice cream and alcohol flights. It was really delicious and very
affordable. I tried four different kinds
for less than $6. I really liked the
atmosphere and think in the summer it will be a hopping spot. It was already pretty busy on Saturday night with
it not quite being ice cream weather yet.
Sunday was a surprise 13th birthday
party for my friend Jenny Ware’s son Trace.
He was surprised alright! We
waited in the park near the pond and his Grandma had told him they were going
for a walk. Once they got close, we all
yelled “surprised”. He had told his
Grandma that he saw there was a party going on but didn’t realize it was for
him. I’d say that was a successful
surprise.
Monday was pretty low key. I attended a Monday morning WW meeting which
I really liked and will share more on that tomorrow. I also popped into the gym after and walked
1.5 miles on the treadmill.
I rented The
Greatest Showman on Sunday afternoon and ended up watching it all the way
through two times and then skipped around to all the “show songs” about a bazillion
times. It was a really great move and
the songs are fantastic.
