My Impromptu Purchase

Good After…Evening

I’ve been running around all day trying to get caught up on a few things before I start back at work tomorrow.  I’m going in at 10am as I have Phoenix’s daughter Kiki spending the night tonight.  She is pretty self sufficient so all is well.

I bought myself a new MacBook, which I am typing on this very moment.  I have been looking to upgrade for quite some time and decided this was it.  Plus, with 18 month no-interest financing, it made it an easier decision.  These aren’t the best photos but since I took them to send to Kenyon, I’ll share them here too.  My original MacBook Air is a 13 inch “old school” version that is now six years old.  I’ve been wanting something better for travel and blogging on the go.  The 12 inch MacBook or as I call it, “Mini Mac”, fits the bill perfectly.  It is a smidge larger than my iPad Pro but smaller than the newer/upgraded 13 inch MacBook Air.

The Apple Store even had my model there so I could compare how much smaller the newer versions are to my old one.  Plus, they are a lot lighter too.

I’m stoked to build a friendship with my new “addition” which I thin I might call Karla.  As you know, my first MacBook is named Karl and while I am sad to be saying goodbye to him, I know Kenyon will treat him well.  This new MacBook feels like a female and instead of Karl Jr., I’m thinking Karla.  But we will see how things progress.  I also need to get a case so I don’t scratch her up too soon.

Anyway…in addition to spending money today, I have also been to a few grocery stores and am working on my meal prep for the week.  I’ll check in with my travel recaps tomorrow.

Checking In

We are having a lot of fun on vacation and eating a lot of yummy foods. Thankfully, my pants still fit. I am really looking forward to resuming my WW routine when we get home. After a month of indulgences, it is overdue time to get back on track.

Speaking if jeans, Kenyon and I don’t typically do our laundry together. With vacation though, we’ve had to combine loads. Kenyon comments on my “tiny pants” each time we wash. It makes me laugh and really puts my negative thoughts into a new perspective. I guess it is something that I will always struggle with. Overall, I feel pretty good despite my recent weight gain.

I’ll recap my vacation when I’ve got time but don’t worry, I’ve been taking a lot of fun photos.

I’m headed out for more family fun.

May Is Upon Us

Happy May To You All.  Oh boy, do I love a fresh new month!

I was even energized enough to start tracking again, despite our out-of-town plans.  I blew through almost all my daily points by lunchtime, which was actually at 8am.  We woke up at about 3:20am on Wednesday so we could catch our early flight to Kansas City, MO.  We had a quick bite to eat at home and boarded our flight bright and early.  The flight made a stop in Oakland, CA first, which meant we lost an hour.  We were eating our “second” meal at 7am Oakland time, which is 8am Boise time.  So, needless to say, by the time we arrived at the Ameristar Hotel in KC, we were starved.  That pretty much sums up how tracking on vacation my first day went.

Now, I’m not going to let that derail me.  I don’t like tracking on vacation but I am going to try harder to stay mindful and perhaps a little focus on tracking could be the key.  I am rapidly eating through my points each day.  Vacation foods are a beast and I do love them.

I’m trying to balance them though by eating half (or less) of the yummy stuff and extra portions of the healthy stuff.

I do want to make this month more consistent with my tracking and earning blue dots again up on our return from Missouri.  I had really great successful losses in the month of March and it is no surprise that all those blue dots contributed.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying time with friends and family, eating some delicious foods, and trying not to stress it too much.
