When St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday, there is only one thing to do…take the following day off and round up your favorite friends.
After work on Friday, I drug The Hubs out on the
town. Phoenix and Stacey along with
Wanda and Michael hit up some breweries for some green beer, live music, and
other shenanigans.
We had the best time.
Our night started at Mad Swede Brewing. Wanda and Michael got there early to snag us
a table as they expected a large turnout.
They had a live band playing and good beer. We wanted to order pizza from their new pizza
truck but they ran out of dough and had a 45 minute ETA.
Not wanting to wait that long, I had reservations for
Twisted District Brew Co. and I knew they were serving corned beef and cabbage. Since we were guaranteed a table, we headed
there next. Kenyon and I shared a chorizo
and the brisket queso and chips. I had their
stout and enjoyed it.
We had about 30 minutes until Idawild Brewing Company
closed and we knew they had fun lucky charm type marshmallows as part of their
smores stout. We popped in for a quick
pint.
Our night finished at Powderhouse Brewing Company which had cars parked out on the street!
We were lucky enough to find a spot right up front and rounded up a few
chairs to sit. Since I was in a dark
beer mood all night, I ended with their scotch ale.
A tasty night and lots of fun. We went to my parent’s house on Saturday for
corned beef, cabbage, pistachio ice cream, and a dose of the NCAA. It was a good way to wrap up the holiday
weekend.
