Get Thin Fast

I actually took this photo just after the first of the year and never had a chance to sit down and blog about it.

Get Thin Fast.

Ha!  Don’t we wish!  Everybody knows the secret to weight loss is good old fashioned diet and exercise.  You could lose weight with a magic pill.  You could lose weight by eating cabbage soup all week.  You could lose weight by doing a cleanse detox. In today’s day you can lose weight a multitude of ways.  But, I highly doubt you will keep the weight off!

Sadly, there is just not really a way to "get thin fast"…and stay there!  Believe me though before I joined WW I would have been buying this magazine looking for tips to lose weight.  Now seeing stuff like this just irks me.

We all know the start of a new year means resolutions of weight loss and exercise.  Every magazine cover talks about it and every retail advertisement includes exercise clothing and equipment.  Gym membership advertisements plaster the roadway signs, television commercials, and radio airwaves.  Membership in our WW meetings goes up and there are lots more bodies at the gym.  And we all know it won’t last more than a few months before the crowds start to thin and the resolve to lose weight gets placed to the sidelines.

Instead of the resolve to "get thin fast" spend some time working on the inner you.  Think about what is behind your eating.  Is it emotional?  Is food comforting?  Is it a habit you have built over the many years you have been able to feed yourself?
Spend some time looking at nutrition labels and learning about healthy fats.  Take a nutrition class or talk to a nutritionist.  Sign up for some personal training sessions at a gym or join an exercise class.  Find a weight loss program that might benefit you, most of which you can check out for free.  Seek support from your loved ones, your friends, and your coworkers.

We all want to “get thin fast” but that isn’t realistic.  It only leads to being frustrated, upset, and eventually giving up.  Be kind to yourself and invest the time and energy needed to make the changes you seek.
