2014 Year End Review

I’ve seen other bloggers writing a blog post to sum up their year.  I really liked that idea so I am going to share with you my 2014.  Sorry, I'm a little late.

January
I celebrated seven years as a WW member.

We visited all of the Hawaiian Islands.  It is still crazy to think one year ago we were almost Hawaii bound.   Time seems to pass at rapid speed.

Pearl Harbor Part I and Part II
Pineapple Plantation
North Shore
Final Days in Oahu
Maui
Hilo
Kona
Kauai

February
February 20th officially became Idaho State Police Day

I threw my first Academy Awards Party where I wore my homecoming dress from high school.

March
Danielle and I walked the Shamrock Shuffle 10K and I rounded up my friends for St. Patty’s Day festivities.
April
Despite not ever reaching my WW goal weight again in 2014, I never lost hope.

May
I visited Spokane, WA to meet my online WW Buddy, and now close friend, Dawny for the very first time and then we walked a 12K.

Danielle and I attended the Wine, Women, & Shoes event.  We had blast…how can you not?
June
In June I fell in love with LePeep, a new restaurant by our house.

July

August
In August I had my annual Hawaiian Party.
September
I Blogged for #TravelFit2014 about Active Cruising and Las Vegas.
We made a trip to Silver City and then Dawny came to town and we walked the FitOne 10K with Danielle.
October
October is my favorite month.  We headed to New Mexico to visit the in-laws and to see the Balloon Fiesta.
I celebrated my 35th Birthday and we partied at work for Halloween.
November
We bought a new couch.  I am in love with our new couch and power reclining is the best invention ever.
Turkey Day came and went.
December

And then Kenyon and I headed to Vegas for a long weekend.  I reflected on how excess weight can make the same vacation so different.
Wow…2014 was quite the year.  Thank you so much for letting me share it with you.  I know 2015 is going to be just as awesome!

New Bed Frame

In all the hubbub of my car crash and car shopping, I forgot to share with you our other new purchase.  A new bed frame!

When we were shopping for our new couch, Kenyon and I spotted this amazing bed frame with storage drawers and the option to add a bookcase headboard.  It is made by a local company and it is all solid wood.  We sort of filed it into the back of our minds for a later purchase.

Later came sooner and we decided to finance the new bed at 18 month with no interest.  It took about six weeks to get it.  The DeMeyer guys delivered and set up the new bed frame in a matter of minutes.  They work fast!

We are so happy with our purchase.  I love having the extra draws for my clothes.  I no longer have to reach up on tip toes to try and get my sweaters from the top of my closet shelf.  The hard wood is beautiful and this bed frame was fully customizable and I am so glad we went with something we really like.  We plan to have this bed frame for years to come

I’m not sure we will move anytime soon because while the DeMeyer guys make it look easy, this is going to a bear to move!

I suppose we had better take it easy on the purchases in 2015.  It has been really fun to add in some new upgrades to our house.  We never bought any furniture when we moved in together after getting married.  I still want a new front loading washer and dryer but that will have to wait a while until some other bills are paid down.

New stuff is so much fun!

Back On Track After An Overboard Saturday

Happy Sunday.  I am starting my last of two night shifts tonight.  I will miss sleeping in but I’ll enjoy having a full day off again.  And DURING the actual day light.  Weeeee….

I don’t have much to share today.  I feel like I’m pretty boring lately.  I had best get myself some content to share eh?  I had a nice one-day off yesterday.  Kenyon and I ran some errands and went to Café Ole for dinner.  I’ve not been to Café Ole for a while and they now have whole beans instead of refried beans.  They are really good too.  I had a fajita burrito and ate a bit of it with the tortilla and then dug out a little filling before calling it quits and getting a to-go box.

I always felt like I have navigated eating out well but lately I feel like I can really pat myself on the back.  I usually have my mind made up ahead of time how much I’ll eat.  That can always change depending on my hunger/satisfied feelings but usually I allot so much for that meal.  I like to take the leftovers home for another meal.  Going out to breakfast is really easy because most breakfast meals come with pancakes.  I eat my eggs and breakfast meat at the restaurant and the take my pancakes home and reheat for another meal.  The last two days I’ve been eating on some IHOP pancakes that I brought home from Friday night.

I reheat a pancake in the toaster oven and top it with peanut butter and honey and then a mixture of a sautéed apple in coconut oil, brown sugar, and cinnamon.  It is delicious.  Today I also added an egg and egg white on the side to complete my breakfast.

My Saturday food choices didn't go so well after Café Ole.  I’ve been craving sugar/sweets for a few days now but have been able to side-step the craving and push past it.  I felt the sweets craving settle in after our lunch but instead I had some coffee with sugar free Caramel from Dutch Bros.  Later in the evening we went to see “The Good Lie” at the cheap seats.  It was a really good movie.  We got movie popcorn and I hosed it.  I love movie popcorn.  On our way home from the movie the sweets craving really hit.  I should have talked myself out of stopping for ice cream but I didn’t.  We swung by Albertson’s and got some Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream.  I didn’t eat the whole pint though.

Since I am at work tonight I have all my food packed and I am on track.  I am a few points under my DPA, which is good since I’m pretty much out of WPPA.  If I was at home tonight and tomorrow like I have been I know my eating would not be structured.  I’d probably snack too much and not count the PPVs.  I am glad to be back on track today.
