Sorry for the late blogpost. I needed a day to rest today. I was exhausted!
Danielle and I had a blast in Las Vegas. I took lots of photos of alcohol and realized you would all think I consumed a liquid diet all weekend! So there is also some food photos in the mix!

We
boarded our Southwest flight excited for the weekend ahead.
I was
laughed at by flight attendants on BOTH our flights for my “special
order” drink. You know you are a WW member when you ask for a mix
of orange juice AND Sprite Zero to mix with your vodka! The drinks were free thanks to Kenyon. He got some free drink coupons and since he doesn't drink (aka his wife is a lush) Danielle and I got free drinks!
We
arrived in Las Vegas just after noon but weren't able to check into
our hotel without paying an extra fee so we went in search of food.
We were staying at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, which is where
Gordon Ramsay's restaurant BurGR is located. Danielle is a HUGE fan
so we went to check it out. The line was very long and the wait was
at least 40 minutes.
Feeling
deflated we headed into the connecting Miracle Mall to find something
else to eat. We ended up at a Mexican place that was only so-so. I
didn't snap a photo of my fajita burrito though. We were able to
kill enough time to get checked into our hotel room. We were on the
18th floor. It was a nice hotel with comfy beds, however,
we didn't feel it was in really good shape for the price we paid.
After
we were all settled in our room we headed out on foot to The Luxor to
pick up our tickets show tickets for the weekend. Walking around is Vegas is always an experience because everything looks so close yet it is so far
away. Danielle was wearing her FitBit so she was tracking our steps
over the weekend. It is really eye opening to see how many miles you actually walk! We stopped for a drink at Auora in The Luxor. This was
called Green Wave and was delicious! We sat and people watched for a
bit. People watching is awesome in Vegas!
We set out on foot again and headed back to our hotel so we could re-group, change
clothes, and get ourselves pretty for the evening ahead. We had
tickets to see Carrot Top and I wanted to eat at my favorite
restaurant, Kahunaville, located in Treasure Island. On our walk back to the hotel we stopped at Walgreens and got some Skinnygirl Margarita so we could have at least one cheap drink in the room. I love to mix it with something else since it isn't that sweet. I mixed it with some Diet Squirt and also added some lemonade water mix-in. It was delicious! Don't worry I also consumed LOTS of water this weekend too. Balance!
We knew
it would take a while to get to Treasure Island so we boarded The
Duce. It is a double decker bus that runs up and down The Strip and
is just $8 for a 24 hour pass. If you ever visit Las Vegas, plan to
get a bus pass. You still do a lot of walking even riding the bus.
Kahuanaville
usually offers 2 for 1 deals and Danielle happened to have a coupon
from her recent visit to Las Vegas. I always order the stir fry with chicken and teriyaki sauce. It has lots of veggies and is served with rice. I
was so hungry I forgot to snap a photo until I was finished.
Unfortunately
we didn't leave enough time to get from Treasure Island to The Luxor to get to our show on time. We knew we
couldn't make it on foot so we boarded the bus again and held our
breath. The bus we were on didn't stop in front of The Luxor so we
had to do some running. We ended up being late to the show but
thankfully they still let us in. We only missed some of the opening
comedian act. I am glad we didn't miss any of Carrot Top.
If you have never seen Carrot Top, he is hilarious! We laughed so much. Another must see if you ever visit Vegas. He passed out shots of Crown Royal to the audience members towards the end of the show. When he ran out of little glasses and people starting holding out their own, which he poured some alcohol into. He even let a few take a swing directly from the bottle. You know it is a good show when shots are invovled.
I
picked the oreo shake with crème brulee pudding.
Danielle
ordered the banana shake with butterscotch pudding. Both were topped
with fresh whip cream. They were delicious!
It was
time to call it a night and we headed to bad after midnight. There
is lots more fun to be had!
Have I
mentioned how much I love Las Vegas??
