When we
visit my Aunt Barb in New Mexico, she often wants to cook/eat at home. This is helpful in offsetting those vacation
splurges and saving a little money.
Plus, Barb is a great cook.
One of her
tips/tricks is to buy bell peppers when they are on a really good sale, along
with an onion. She then sautés them, put
them into a Ziploc bag, and then freezes them flat. This way whenever she wants peppers and
onions for a recipe she just takes it out of the freezer and breaks off a
little chunk.
