I Am Super Spoiled

When I was making my Spokane travel plans I had just walked the St. Patty's Day 10K and ran around all day after. My legs were so sore by the end of the day. I was sort of hoping I wouldn't regret having to drive home seven hours after walking a 12K and having a sore body. I ran the numbers to see if flying was an option but that would have cost twice as much. Kenyon mentioned he could fly up Sunday evening and drive me home from Spokane on Monday. Boy am I spoiled!

I picked Kenyon up from the Spokane airport on Sunday evening. It is funny because Kenyon also picked me up at the Las Vegas airport a few weeks ago. Twice we have picked each other up at airports in cities we don't live in. It made me laugh.

We had plans to meet Dawny and her husband Ted for dinner at Dawny's beloved casino buffet. Sadly, they were not able to make it. Since we had already planned on the buffet Kenyon was still up for it.

OMG!!! This buffet is amazing. I didn't want to stop eating. I wished I had more room to eat as I definitely had the appetite! I didn't take in enough food during the day of the race so I was starving all afternoon. After feeling like I needed a break from salad after our pizza buffet on Saturday I was ready for salad on Sunday evening. I started with the salad bar and loaded up some zero PPV veggies.

I forgot to take a photo of my main plate. I did have actual food, not just salad and dessert! I went for their yummy turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and steamed broccoli. I also had bites of Kenyon's pasta, which was also delicious. I wanted to try so much more.

I wasn't sure if I would indulge in dessert after having a rather indulgent weekend. Plus, I was getting pretty low on PPVs. Dawny had told me the buffet had the perfect size small two bite desserts. She wasn't kidding. We tried some crème brulee, a fruit tart, and a chocolate something. It was the perfect finish with just a bite or two of each.

Since I was exhausted we headed to bed as soon as we got back to the hotel. Monday morning we loaded up to hit the road towards home. I was craving oatmeal and made due with the instant oats at the hotel. I cut up an apple and microwaved it for a bit then added my oats and water. Don't forget the peanut butter! I also had half a yogurt.

I took this photo of all the water bottles consumed this weekend. It doesn't include all the water consumed at restaurants and also at the hotel breakfast. I am a water drinking fool! Dawny always had her water bottle wherever we went. Nice job Dawny!

We stopped at Denny's in Pasco for lunch. I went for the make your own chicken tacos but deconstructed them for a chicken salad that I scooped up with the corn chips. It was Cinco de Mayo after all!

I gave in to some boredom eating along our route and found myself with even less PPVs. I knew dinner would have to be in check. We decided on Cracker Barrel when we got back to Boise. I love the cobb salad and was able to ask for extra turkey instead of the bacon. I had the peppercorn vinaigrette on the side. I was delicious.

I was still in “vacation splurge mode” so we ordered the apple dumpling dessert. WOW! Now this is how you do Cinco de Mayo. Despite not really having the PPVs for it we indulged. Go get this immediately, just bring three other friends has it is HUGE.

I'm back at home and have been to my WW meeting. I'll report on that tomorrow. I am glad to be back to my normal routine.
